Life Experience
In addition to the jobs listed above, I’ve been a barista on and off for ten years. Although I hope I never have to work in service again, I don’t regret a minute of it.
Serving people is both humbling and empowering at the same time. People look down upon you and you learn what it’s like to be pigeonholed. At the same time, since you’re behind the counter, you get to make and enforce the rules. Most importantly, it taught me how to deal with anybody at anytime. No matter what.
My other interests include spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors, reading (fiction and non), fraternizing with my peers, and people-watching. My most passionate hobby is adding to my ever-growing collection of thrift-store art.
